Sometimes the simplest designs can also be the most useful. The PNY USB 2 Flash Card Reader is a strange-looking contraption that allows you to transfer data from a CompactFlash memory card to your PC. Just plug in the memory card at one end, stick the other end in a USB port and voila, you'll be able to read and write data on the card.
An indicator light is illuminated when the device is connected and because it supports USB 2, it's very fast at shifting megabytes. And that's it really. It's most suited for notebook users who don't have a memory card reader but may want to download photos from a CompactFlash-based digital camera. It's a bit bulky, but so is CompactFlash.
It may seem a bit silly to plump for a single-slot card reader when there are USB-based multi-card readers around but if all you've got is CompactFlash, why spend more?
