This 19in LCD1920NX is well constructed and plain looking without being dull.
At its native resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 the LCD1920NX produces a crisp, sharp display with bright and vibrant colours.
NEC also claims an impressive horizontal and vertical viewing angle of 170 degrees. In use, you could probably shave at least 10 degrees off this, but nonetheless it's still one of the widest we've come across.
A problem with many LCDs is the time lag (response time) that arises as the liquid crystal elements twist and untwist. This results in the blurring of fast-moving animated objects.
However, here this effect is minimal, producing a very fast response time.
Unlike other models from NEC-Mitsubishi, the LCD1920NX's screen cannot be rotated through 90 degrees to give you a portrait mode. The tilting angle is quite shallow, spanning just 25 degrees. However, you can remove the stand to allow for wall mounting.
One of the key points of this LCD, apart from its notable screen size, are the two video signal inputs neatly housed behind a detachable cover at the rear. One is a DVI-D port and the other is a standard D-Sub.
This means that not only do you get the option of hooking up two PCs to this monitor, but the DVI-D port also offers a direct digital connection to your PC - you'll have to buy a DVI cable though.
The OSD is simple to use, and the auto-adjust button worked effectively.
You don't get any USB ports or speakers, but then this is a no-frills top-quality screen aimed at the professional market.
