Have you ever thought that there must be an easier way to view the size of a particular folder in Windows Explorer other than right-clicking on it and selecting 'Properties'? Well, install Folder Size and it all becomes much easier.

Folder Size adds a number of extra columns to Windows Explorer, the most important being 'Folder Size' which displays the size of each folder in real time. Other columns that can be activated include File Count and Folder Count.

File Count shows the number of files stored in each folder, while Folder Count displays the number of folders within each folder.

The documentation for the software is pretty sparse, so here are details of how to activate the columns once Folder Size is installed:

You must be using the Details view in order to take advantage of Folder Size (Details > View). Afterwards, right-click on the column headers to see a list of available headings, and select Folder Size to activate. You can then turn off Size, and then select Tools > Folder Options > Apply to All Folders for Folder Size to work in every folder.
