After five years of hype and rumour, 3G mobile phones are finally starting to arrive on the major networks. The main difference between these and a standard mobile is that 3G phones can make use of faster data transfer speeds.
This means that users can, for example, make video calls or download clips of football matches. These are things that would take hours on a standard phone, but can potentially be done in a matter of minutes over a 3G network.
The S750 is a slide phone, meaning that you get at the keypad by sliding the screen section up. This allows for a big screen, although it's not that much bigger than on some of the new standard phones. It is good quality, however, showing text and pictures clearly and brightly.
This isn't a smartphone, so you can't synchronise it with a PC, although you can transfer your phone book from one to the other. It comes with infrared and Bluetooth for connecting to headsets and other phones.
There are cameras on the front and back which both offer reasonable quality but are only really suited to MMS, so don't expect to print images at a decent resolution. Voice call quality is excellent, although video picture quality was quite poor.
Remember that 3G only covers 70 per cent of the population compared with around 99 per cent for ordinary mobile phones.
Like all 3G handsets it's bigger than a normal phone, but it's a good model and has no major flaws.
