Verdict
The Gyration GC215 Go is pricey but it's an excellent way to use a computer from a sofa or without a desk

No matter how good the remote control supplied with a home entertainment computer, there are times when using a keyboard and mouse is absolutely necessary.

The Gyration GC215 Go offers the best of both worlds by removing the need for a flat surface on which to use the mouse.

After the supplied USB dongle is plugged into the computer, a gyroscope inside the mouse detects movement, so it's possible to move the cursor by waving the mouse in the air. If there’s a flat surface around, it will also work like a standard mouse too.

The keyboard is more compact than normal but doesn't have a numeric keypad. Fifteen hot keys along the top will control media players and internet browsers. A full-size keyboard set – the Gyration C315 Go – is also available for the same price.

Just like a TV remote control, the keyboard has a light that comes on every time a key is pressed. We found this annoying to the point where we ended up covering the light with a piece of paper.

The mouse has two extra buttons, which can be used to access another 10 computer functions.

The Gyration GC215 Go, although somewhat pricey, was easy to use and is a good way to reduce wrist strain.

At this price, it’s a wonder how Logitech managed to fit in all these features. A great keyboard.
