Veteran electronic manufacturing giants, such as Sharp, have had a long time to hone their products into desirable items. The LL-T2015 20in TFT is an example of this - it looks and performs great, but costs an absolute packet.
Operating at its native UXGA resolution of 1,600 x 1,200, colours are vivid and the white areas are very bright, thanks largely to the 400:1 contrast radio. There's definitely no doubting its quality.
The OSD provides menu options for adjusting all the usual display features including black level, gamma correction and automatic screen resizing. There's also a shortcut button for changing the colour to four schemes - vivid, standard and sRGB, which offers the best range of colours for Windows applications. There's also an 'office' setting for fluorescent environments.
The monitor is very solid and sits firmly on its ergonomic stand. The height of the screen can be raised from 12cm to 19cm at its highest. It can be wall-mounted, but you'll need to get handy with a screwdriver and remove the stand bracket.
It can swivel 45 deg each way, but doesn't support portrait rotation. Nevertheless, the viewing angles are very good, which you'd expect for a monitor of this quality and price.
Naturally, it's designed with both VGA and DVI-I display connections and comes with both cables. The model we had for review was finished in jet black, although there is an ivory option.
Our biggest problem with this TFT is the £1,119 asking price. With 19in TFTs selling for around £500 less, it's difficult to justify the extra cost.
