The L1510P featured in Personal Computer World's group test in March, when it gained one of our Highly Commended awards. However, the price has since dropped to a competitive £275.35 and, considering what it has to offer, this is an excellent buy.
With D-Sub and DVI-I ports, a press of a button selects the active signal source, and thumbs up to LG for the DVI cable.
You can pivot the LG to a portrait orientation and rotate the desktop using the Pivot Pro software. It can be raised 7cm with the stand's hinged neck. A sidemounted two-port USB hub is a bonus.
Image quality results reveal a sharp display with minimal signs of banding and smoothly transitioned colour and greyscales, only bettered by the more expensive NEC and Eizo units. Watching the DVD movie is quite acceptable, and the photo looked realistically saturated. Viewing angles come close to LG's figures.
A dedicated auto-adjust button efficiently resets the screen, while the clear menu layout holds all the typical adjustments such as phase, clock, brightness, contrast and colour temperature. There's even a timer that records the number of usage hours, and colour calibration is helped along with the bundled Colorific software.
