Transcend is offering high-speed Compact Flash cards and USB drives with a
capacity of 8GB, both costing a recommended Euro709 (£476).
Transcend said they both use single-level NAND silicon which is faster than
multi-level.
The products are aimed initially at answering the increased storage needs of
multi-megapixel digicams and their users.
But some manufacturers hope people will start using them to carry their
desktop setups and favourite applications around, using a technology known as
U3, for use in any PC.
