Stardock Object Dock Plus

Available as a free download, Object Dock is an animated program launcher and alternative to the standard Windows taskbar. Object Dock Plus picks up where this leaves off, adding a good selection of useful features.

If your desktop is littered with icons, the new tabbed docks will be right up your street. You can organise your icons into as many categories as you like, then click on the relevant tab to bring them up. You can also add multiple docks, use multiple monitors and even change those little icons in the Windows System Tray.

To add an item to the dock you simply drag and drop its icon into position. You can then replace its standard Windows icon with one of the supplied high-resolution alternatives, or any of the hundreds available on sites such as www.wincustomize.com.

You can also add menus, clocks, calendars, weather information and an ever-growing variety of plug-ins, called 'docklets'. Menus can appear as standard Windows Start menus or as animated 'fly-out' folder menus, and you can add as many as you wish.

With continued use, this program can change the way you work. Your workspace becomes tidier and you're more organised. Best of all, this productivity boost leaves you plenty of time to spend on selecting the coolest icons and backgrounds.

Using Object Dock is fun but Object Dock Plus is useful fun. A genuine work productivity enhancer.
