Acoustica offers decent audio editing functions at a reasonable price, and doesn't skimp on tools or effects. It can, of course, record audio from any source (line in, microphone, CD etc.) and includes calibration options.

Editing can be done in both 24-bit and 32-bit modes, at a maximum sampling rate of 192KHz. You can also import tracks directly from CDs and burn audio CDs directly from within the program.

An ideal use for the program is the conversion of old cassette and vinyl recordings onto CD, complete with the ability to remove extraneous background noise (tape hiss etc.) and improve dull recordings.

The software can read and write the following formats: OGG, WAV, WMA and MP3, which should cater for most needs.

The essential unlimited undo and redo is included, so no need to fear experimentation. DirectX plug-in support enables the functionality to be extended greatly.

Both a spectrogram and a spectrum analyser are included for analysing and improving signal quality, along with many other features such as numerous effects and enhancements.
