A small blast hit an army recruiting centre in Times Square in the small
hours on 6 February.
The explosive device caused minor damage, smashing the window of a military
recruitment centre which was empty. The centre is in the middle of the square
and is surrounded by theatres and restaurants.
The BBC said
that the recruiting station is one of the busiest in the US and has occasionally
been the site of anti-war protests.
